Ludlow Green Festival 2010 - Events on Sunday 29th August

The Green Fair

Castle Square 10am - 4pm

Ludlow's Castle Square will be filled with stalls exhibiting and selling green products and services.
Find out how you can save money (and the planet!) by using alternative energy.
Discover ideas on how to make our environment a better place.
Sample local and wholesome food.
There will be music, fun for children and perhaps some dancing!
As one of our stallholders said: 'The best showplace for green ideas in the West Midlands'.
FREE entry, but donations welcome

Children's Activity Tent

Castle Square 10am - 4pm

Free activities for younger children with an environmental theme. Children with their parents can enjoy games, painting, stories and toys - maybe some cooking - in a safe and supervised area.
Come along and have some fun.

Live Entertainment

A variety of FREE entertainment
including music from local folk/rock band IssyJack, and the Simon King & Casey Greene duo.
Contributions to their expenses will be welcome

Allotment Open Day

By kind permission of the allotment commitee

Wigleys Field Allotment (near Cliffe Hotel, Dinham Bridge) will be open from 10am - 4pm.
Gardeners will be on hand to demonstrate their methods and crops. Compare organic and other ways of producing good looking and tasty food.
FREE - just turn up and look around.

Electric Assisted Cycles

Arranged by Ludlow Cycling Support Group

Castle Square 11am - 4pm
Want to cycle but don't have the puff? Can't manage the hills? Then try out an electric bike provided by OnBike of Presteigne, who organise the 'Tour de Presteigne', the world's premier electric bike rally.
FREE.

The 'House'

We’ve had The Straw-Bale House, The Throwaway House (from the skips), and The House from the Woods. In 2010, by popular request, we are to have Straw-Bale House Mark II. This will explore how this type of construction can meet modern building regulations, as well as high insulation standards. You will be able to see and discuss different approaches to this technology, and also question Shropshire Council staff on planning and related issues.
