Coppice Crafts & Rags From Rugs

Castle Square 10.30am - 4.30pm

Workshops and demonstrations for all ages working with sustainable and recycled materials.

Basket weaving with Jenny Pearce

Working with willow, participants will be able to complete a small shallow basket to take home. Workshop sessions are 2 hours duration, commencing at 10.30am and 1.30pm.
Cost £12 if booked in advance, or £14 on the day

Rag rug making with Jenni Stuart-Anderson

Using recycled textiles, participants will learn rag rug making techniques, and will all take away a sample they have made. One hour taster sessions start at 10.30am, 11.30am, 1.30pm and 2.30pm.
Cost £5 bookable on the day

Rag rug weaving with June Emmerson

Participants will learn to weave with recycled materials on a pegloom and make a sampler to take away. One hour taster sessions start at 10.30am, 11.30am, 1.30pm and 2.30pm.

Pole lathe, besom brush making & gypsy flowers with Larry Jones

Larry will be deomnstrating how to work with a pole lathe, and showing some gypsy crafts-making besom brushes (roll up, all you Harry Potter fans) and gypsy flowers on a shave horse.

Cleft picket fencing with Ian Pearmain

Ian will be demonstrating how to make attractive picket fencing from oak and other hardwoods.

Easy Peasy with Tish Dockerty

An opportunity for youngsters to prepare a meal with fresh vegetables which can be taken home to be cooked. One hour sessions at 10.30am, 12.30pm and 2.30pm.
